I ordered this mask for my 11-year-old son, who is going out for Halloween as "Zombies Ate My Brains." We plan to glue a fork into the "exposed brain area" section of the mask.

This is a decent quality latex mask -- I would have expected a higher price, so thank you Amazon and A-Prime for the shipping options. Be aware that, as with all masks, you'll have to do some figeting to ensure that the wearer has safe sightlines. We may use some medical-grade tape to ensure that it sticks to his face so that he doesn't lose his ability to see.

In case you're curious about how we will address the rest of his costume, here's the plan:

1. Men's suit from thrift store (about $15), a size or two bigger than he would wear, put through the wash. I will then "zombify" it by adding some strategic tears (especially near the ankles), bloodstains and dirt stains (cocoa powder works well if you don't want to use real dirt).

2. Really ugly tie, also from thrift store, that we'll tatter a bit, apply bloodstains, and he'll wear very loose over an old button-down shirt.

3. Sign (his creation) that will read "Zombies Ate My Brains" and will be worn under his suit coat, over his shirt, painted in "dripping blood" letters.

4. Basic Zombie Makeup kit (can be purchased here online or at almost any retailer with Halloween stuff) that will allow me to grey out visible skin, apply a few ugly fake gashes, darken the area around his eyes, and generally make him look ghoulish.

5. Final touch -- a little plaster roll used to make ripped skin and/or old, falling-apart bandages. (You can do the same with old fabric, some flour paste and/or white glue and flour).

Oh, final word of advice -- as with almost any latex mask, this comes out of the package with a fairly strong odor. Air it out before wearing, possibly with a little baking powder sprinkled on the inside if the wearer may be sensitive.
