Part of me expected this to be a ratty piece of crap that is made in China and would just fall apart instantly.

While I wouldnt call it inpenetrable, it's quite decent. Works as expected, no major complaints. I've taken it out for a few occasions and it still is working well.

update: 9/2013: still chugging along. dont put it through tight spaces where it'll get hooked and tear and it'll still go. only advice is to keep a fresh pair of batteries if you're going to a halloween party and that should last the night.
